QuestionInstallation of My Phone causes SMS / MMS issue

Hi. First of all I would like to say the My Phone service is excellent. I like cool features like locating the phone on a map and of course being able to have a backup of key data.

However, I am experiencing an issue with SMS / MMS. I use an HTC Touch Pro with WM6.1 and am based in Japan. The phone's native language is Japanese. SMS/MMS is using Arcsoft as is typical on HTC devices. Before installing My Phone I can send/receive OK using either messageing links from the contacts or composing a fresh message from the Touch Flo 3D messaging screen. In the full mail client 'Outlook' section I can pop/smtp fine and add new mail accounts.

After installing My Phone, I have a new account in Outlook called SMS and the original SMS/MMS features outlined above do not work any more. Also I can no longer add new pop/smtp accounts. I can still compose an SMS/MMS message in Arcsoft client but it never gets sent. When receiving an SMS it comes into the new Outlook SMS account. This would be kind of OK but there is no notification, no increment in the number of new messages displayed and also MMS seems to no longer work.

The way I recover is hard reset, then restore from last good backup.

Can you give me any tips about how to restore my original SMS/MMS environment after My Phone installation?

So this is what has caused it? ....?

I have an issue now where if my SD card is present I receive no SMS/MMS/voicemail notifications.... I use AT&T Tilt. AT&T said it has to be a card issue. HTC said it has to be a card issue. But I still have a subset of the symptoms when the card is ejected...

My issues are similar. Outlook has new account called System. I can add new accounts but they only seem to work for about a week and then feeze. I am only able to access the setup folder for messaging when the SD card is ejected. HTC said there is nothing in the messaging configuration which would depend upon the SD card. I think this is bogus as there is an option to save attachments to card rather than main memory. I'm guessing now that My Phone has edited my system registry and changed the behaviour. It could be that the SD card is defective in some way and that the issues are coincidental with My Phone install but unrelated.

    A can of worms....
