Never Completes Initial Sync

I'm trying to do the initial sync on my Moto Q9h (Win Mobile 6.1), after dl'ing and installing My Phone today. I have yet to get it to completely sync. The first time it stopped about 50% of the way thru, and every other time since it stops @ 5% (the authenticating user step).

How can I get it to work right?

Sync to Storage Card

Hi,

I've been in My Phone Beta since the very begining but only recently started using it properly.
One thing that is really bugging me is the lack of support for Storage Cards.

I have a Touch HD which has about 300MB available internal storage, and I have an 8GB microSD HC card installed.
I've got TomTom installed on the SD card which takes up about 700MB leaving me with roughly 7GB.

To this end, why does My Phone always insist on using the Internal Storage when doing a restore?
I originally had my phone setup as follows:

\My Documents
   Empty
\Storage Card
   \My Documents
   \My Pictures
   \My Videos
   \My Music

I was happy with this. Some applications fail to support the My Documents folder being on the SD card but it's not a problem because I can move a file here and there.

I deicded today to flash my phone with an updated ROM, and after doing so, started up My Phone.
After enabling the sync of the Storage Card, I started a sync to discover that all my pictures and my music (About 150MB) had been synced to the Internal Storage locations.

Can I change this so that it will always look at the Storage Card? It's a waste to have an 8GB card in the phone is My Phone insists on using the limited amount of Internal Memory.

have an htc touch; "current location" is checked on myphone app.; location setting on phone is "on"; however;;;;; cannot get "locate me" on bing app. to highlight; and which com port should be used on the phone?

Won't sync daily events or any of today's events/appointments

I cannot get MyPhone to pick up the daily 0800-0900 Task event on my Calendar, which contains a Note with a list of to-do's which I edit daily as I complete some and add more. It also failed to sync any of my scheduled events/appointments I had on my HTC TP2's Calendar for today, 11/24/09. Strange. I don't trust this as a backup system for my phone. Help, please? Thanks. can anyone help me, i cant sync my contacts completely. it keeps freezing at when its done 32 out of 121 contacts.
i could sync my sms, calendar and task completely, am using SE xperia 1i by the way.

Would it at all be possible to improve the syncing process for myphone right now? Becuase in all honest, it doesn't even work well with Microsofts own Outlook and Mobile Device Center. Point in case, i just got a new phone (Tilt 2) and first synced it with my desktop which moved all my calendars, notes, documents and contacts to my phone. No problem. Then when i go to setup my first sync with myphone, instead of actually checking and comparing whats on my phone (even if its a new phone) to whats already on my myphone service, it just uploads every single contact and calendar appt creating hundreds of duplicates. On top of this, i had about 11,000 text messages backed up onto my myphone service, and now they're all deleted, and there isn't even a folder where i can go to recover them (like their used to be). I'm sorry, but as it is right now myphone is still terrible. It's literally going to take me hours to recover all the text messages i had (using another more reliable PIM backup option).

I have an HTC8125 running OS 6.1. I have never had success syncing with My Phone. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the software, rebooted the phone, and have even pared down what I want synced but to no avail. I have also ensured that i have a strong signal and have tried to sync during times phone is not in use and being charged?

Unable to Login to MyPhone Portal

I had MyPhone working fine, but then my cell phone had problems and I had to do a hard reset, which removed the MyPhone app. When I went to http://myphone.microsoft,com and clicked on Sign In, I get the following error message. This has been going on for several weeks. I have tried logging on from 3 different computers and from different Internet access locations (home, office, hotel), but I always get the same problem. Any advice?

Unattended synchronization through command line

Hello, I'm trying to find a way to perform unattended synchronization of MyPhone though a script. E.g., I would like to run the sync every night at a certain time when I'm connected to my home Wifi. I have a mortscript which allows me to run a number of tasks under those conditions. But in order to run myPhone sync I would need to know how to call it from the script. Is there a command line to do the sync?

I need to find a way to contact microsoft about this. on 11/18 at 11 am i check my phone to realise all my text messages are deleted. I was semi happy cause i made sure i did a myphone sync the previous days so i loggeed on back to the myphone website only to realise every single text messages and ever text message archive i have has been deleted the only thing left was my pictures. i need to talk to someone about this.

Hi All,

the locate my phone option is not working, i am using an htc diamond (as xda ignito in the UK on O2) i have selected the option in menu > sync options and the other data i have selected is being sync'd fine, just not my location.

i do not (as far as i can find) have an option to turn on gps independently, it needs to be turned on from within a programme (often automatically), so i am expecting to get a vague location from my cell signal, but nothing!

can anybody help?

slow syncing

i got a new phone a couple days ago, a tilt 2 (htc touch pro 2). it replaced my fuze (touch pro). syncing was always slow in 6.5 compared with 6.1 but on this phone its syncing 1 text message per about every 7 seconds. to sync all my text messages back it takes hours. anyone know why this is?

also if i can request a feature to make this easier, can we get an option to delete text messages and some other things if they are over a month old. (variable time limit?) this would be beneficiary to both me an microsoft. ponder over it. thanks. :)

My new HTC HD2 came with Microsoft my phone installed. A check on the Microsoftmyphone site confirms that my carrier Orange supports the service in the UK .

So one would assume that all the features would work. ?

Alas the only features of the application that work on my phone is the syncing of the data - excluding its location.

I have the find my location box on the phone application ticked so I cannot understand why it is not working. All other GPS services on the phone are working.

I have also input my phone number and Country into the desktop to test if the premium features are likely to work on my phone. After waiting several minutes for the test to complete, I get the error message that my phone cannot be contacted and I have exceeded the 2 times per week allowed for the test.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same issue on a Samsung Intrepid on the Sprint newtork in San Diego CA. I have tried both formats xxxyyyzzzz and xxx-yyy-zzzz and still no workey...

EDIT:

I thought it might have just been Sprint, so I also tried this with an at&t Fuze, same result. I think these features are broken all the way around.

Samsung Omnia download ok, login not so

I downloaded the program and it ran on my Samsung Omnia no problem. But, at step 4 (or 5) when I need to login to my live.com (or hotmail.com or msn.com) account, the phone says my email and password are incorrect. After tireless tries knowing for sure I typed it correctly, I was unable to sync up due to no connection to live.com. So I went to https://login.live.com and created the mobile settings, pin and all. Tried again, did not work.

Im out of ideas. Is anyone having a similar problem? Is anyone having trouble logging in knowing with 100% certainty that the login name and password is absolutely correct? Please advise--my sanity is in the balance.

I cannot log into My Phone. I just got a new phone and I need to synch my info unto that new phone, but I need to delete somethings off my profile so that I can synch everything from my old phone to my new one. What's going on with the MY Phone site?

I have more than one issue here. The first issue is this: I had previously been using the sync program with no problem, and it was doing the sync automatically for me, fine, whenever I went to MY Phone. However, I have just installed a software update for my Samsung Omnia Phone, that Samsung recommended. I backed up all my data, as Samsung recommended before doing the upgrade, because the upgrade process would remove all the data in my phone. I did this fine. After the upgrade I went back to my phone to make sure all the data were restored. They were using Active Sync to backup data. However, when I went to my Programs on my phone, I noticed that the My Phone Icon was gone. It was there before I upgraded the phone software. I then went to reinstall it, and did so with no problem. However, when I hit My Phone Icon, it keeps on telling me that my ID or Password is incorrect. I know I did it correctly, and tried several times.
                                         The second issue is: All the pictures that were in my camera before the update are gone from my phone. When I go to the MY PHONE website on my laptop, all the pictures are there. Nowhere on the website does it say how to restore anything to the phone. I find this incredible!! Is restore on another website? Also, instead of making me go thru a forum, why can't I e mail Tech Support directly. This is really a hassle. Also there is no contact phone number

Cannot backup a database file the MyPhone + suggestions

Hi,

I use a language learning/dictionary program (PlecoDict) which uses an SQL database file called "Pleco Flashcards.pqb" to keep track of my flashcard words and scores. The file contains several thousand words which I've built up over the past couple of years, as well as the scores for flashcards sessions. The file is about 700Kb and is stored in a subdirectory under My Documents on my WM6.1 phone (Touch Diamond 2).

My problem is that MyPhone isn't backing this file up. It seems there is a limitation in which filetypes get backed up. Please could you make it so any file type under My Documents will get backed up?

Also, I think it is important that the Folder/Directory structure is retained when MyPhone backs up. At the moment, it seems all files/folders are put into one huge top-level folder when they are synced to the web (being able to choose which folders get backed up would be useful too).

Showing All Fields of Contacts

As a businessman, I need many data entry on Contacts as my own connection database. Middle name, car phone (actually I use it to store the 2nd mobile number, MS please improve it!!), radio phone (3rd mobile), etc.

It will be great if I can see all things in Contacts @ MyPhone service.

p.s. I am worrying that some fields will lose from MyPhone service. Anyone would confirm that? Thanks.

Any possibility for call history syncing capabilities being added to My Phone? At least for me...this would be a nice addition. Currently, on my phone (AT&T Tilt2), there is no way to individually select calls for deletion without deleting all calls (to/from a particular contact)?

The my phone premium features are great, but I'm not signing up for anything when I can't find out the cost. I searched everywhere, but I can't find where Microsoft states the price. I suppose they don't feel they need to state it because all Microsoft is currently asking is to sign up for a free trial, but it is reasonable to ask up front how much I'll be charged when he trial period ends. You'd think that such a big company could interact with consumers without the tricks.

After a hard reset, I installed the latest version of MyPhone on my Sprint HTC Touch Pro, but am getting a message that "Some of your items did not sync". When I click on Details, I see "Some files could not be synced and were skipped. My Phone will attempt again during the next sync" above the usual details about "The following changes were made..."

Subsequent sync attempts continue to give the same result and when I go to the MyPhone website on my PC, there's nothing there to indicate a problem or which files are not syncing up.

How do I find this information and/or fix this problem? Up till now the service has worked great for me... :(

My Phone destroyed my phone

I installed My Phone and it said it installed successfully. I then clicked the Start menu - nothing happens. I can't access any of the programs. I try rebooting my phone - it now gets stuck in an infinite reboot sequence. I can't restart my phone. I am forced to perform a hard reset and lose all my data. I would not recommend ever installing this destructive piece of software.

Good day all,
I am an ATT users with a Touch Pro 2 (AKA Tilt 2) that is using a custom ROM (closer to stock without all the ATT bloatware). I just installed MyPhone last night and so far like the feature included. I like the combination of backup and remote security features that it offers. Now on to my question.

I occasionally reflash my phones ROM and perfer to keep most of the software I install on it on my 8 GB S card for reinstalling it. I am finding though that MyPhone backs up all CAB files along with all my documents and pictures I store on my card.

Is there a way of setting up exclusions from the backup? Perhaps having the files in a certain folder or excluding certain file extensions? I know that keeping the software simple is important for the widest range of people to figure out but I think that something like that would definately add some more value to more technically literate people. OR is there something like that built in already that I am missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

i have a tmobile touch pro 2 using windows 6.5 and somehow when i setup my email (hotmail account) it directs me to windows live software or even directly to the site live.com. i dont want this. i use to have it setup to send each email as they arrive directly to my phone and now i cant get that to work. i have had to resort to having my gmail snag and redirect all hotmail to me thru gmail. this has reulted in not allowing myphone (software) from synching my calendar events. does anyone know the domain name settings to help me setup my hotmail to come directly to my phone again? also how can i setup myphone software to retrieve my calendar events again? i cant put aa check mark in the box. its unselectable. email me at bluevmax92@gmail.com
