    last thing...

is the cd key and the original cd the only things i need in order to reinstall my xp home edition?...are there some other things that they are going to ask me for?..

after reformatting my laptop and while reinstalling the xp home edition...what are the things that they will ask me aside from the cd and the cd key?.

  • The Windows product key shown in the Belarc report is the product key currently used on your computer.  To determine whether or not it is "genuine", visit: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click on Validate Windows.

After your hard drive is reformatted and Windows XP is reinstalled, be sure to immediately visit the Microsoft Windows Update web site and download all the available critical updates, including Service Pack 3 for Windows XP.

Also, you should strongly consider installing a good antivirus program, such as Windows OneCare.  You can try it FREE for 90 days: http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/default.htm

  • princess_1107,

Provided that the original cd of Windows Home Edition and the cd for the Office Product are both genuine,  you will need

the products keys for each one.

The Windows Home Edition product key should be on the machine itself and the Office Product should be on the cd's.

    Good luck!
