Locked OCS 2007 Front End Server Install Fail

    Hello,

     

    I'm trying to Add a front end server to my new pool.  During the install of the Front End server I receive the following message:

     

     

    Error 0x3ec7d02 setting WMI instance MSFT_SIPApplicationSetting in namespace ROOT\CIMV2 during action AddOrUpdateWMIInstanceEx.

     

    I am logged in with an account that had Domain Admin privledges, so I don't think I don't think this should be a permissions issue.

      Hi David,

      What's the name of your pool and frontend server? I'm not sure if this has something to do with your problem but I heard from some colleagues that using underscores in ocs server names could cause problems during installation and configuration.

      Just a thought from my side.

        I just gave up and reinstalled the OS on the server.  This is a test server so it was not a big deal.  That did resolve the problem.  Something WMI was screwed up.  I think it got screwed up when I didn't deactivate the Front End Server before I uninstalled it.
