I’m trying to understand how the Contact searches work.
In the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Administration Guide (Page 164), you can read:
“When a user searches for a contact using Microsoft Office Communicator, Communicator forwards the request to the Front End Server, which queries Active Directory for the latest information…The internal database is not queried when adding a new contact because it is refreshed by Address Book Service only once per day, so it can be up to 24 hours out of date at the time of a query.”
In this case, when is the internal database (GalContacts.db) used?
If I have the same contact in my “Outlook Contacts” the result of the search will also show me this contact. So the search will not just forward the request to the Front End Sever, but also look to my Outlook Contacts. I’m right?
Is it possible to change this process?
