Not expecting many answers on this posting. I'm considering an opportunity with a startup BI / Consulting services company that has built a dashboard product on SQL Server 2008 platform. I believe the product may leverage Analysis Services
as well. Is anyone familiar with the legal aspects involved with building on Microsoft's platform should the company one day be acquired by another firm? Microsoft's platform is not truly open source, correct? Could Microsoft retain
some kind of rights to the product if it were sold? Thanks in advance!!
