First of a few issues I'm trying to resolve:
We recently upgraded to CRM 3.0 from 1.2 (we're a little late). We have now noticed that when opportunities are closed as lost or won, any open activities are left open. In version 1.2 these were automatically cancelled. To my knowledge, this was not a customization (since I'm the customizer).
Is this a confirmed feature difference between 1.2 and 3.0? Is there a supported means besides a callout to implement our desired functionality of having the activities cancelled?

Our CRM 3.0 system behaves the same way as yours, in that open activities remain open when an opportunity is closed (and I haven't customized that part of it). It has been quite a while since I used version 1.2 and I hadn't noticed the difference.
I think the answer to your question about a supported means to achieve your desired functionality is that are you going to have to write a callout.
Thursday, December 20, 2007 11:17 PMThe thing is, I seem to remember in 1.2 that a fix was released to handle activities that were left open when an opportunity was closed. Interesting that with 1.2 that would be fixed, but with 3.0 it's normal.
