By customizing the Business Unit main form – adding Currency into the main form. We can change the currency for business unit. But when and where does this business unit currency setting being used?

    Hi Kevin,

Whenever you add currency fields, there is a default field added called as Transaction Currency (as seen below in the screenshot). So if you add custom currency fields in any of your entities, then this automatically added field will let you choose from multiple currencies that you have in your CRM. In your case you will have options of CAD and USD and you can pick from any one of them.

I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful.

    Hi Ashish,

Thanks for the reply. I'm still wondering how and when a business unit' currency is used out of box.

Could you please clarify about your real scenario?  Currency is an Organization owned entity.  By adding Currency into the Business Unit main form and setting different currencies for different Business Units won't change anything in other entity records.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Here is my scenario, we have two business units: one is Sales Canada, another one is Sales US.

Out of box, you cannot set currency for a business units, but after adding the field into business unit main form, you can set the currency to CAD or USD for business unit.

I have been wondering how and when the business unit's currency setting is used out of the box or no use at all.

     Answered

Adding a currency to a Businees Unit and changing the Business Unit's currency setting will NOT affect any other entities' currency settings, such as Account's or Contact's.

    Thanks,

    Mike

So it's no use out of box. Thanks for the confirmation, Mike.
