Help with permissions - Price List lookup grayed out on Quote form

When trying to create a new quote, our user is unable to click on or select a Price List.
I've got Sys Admin rights and when I create a new quote, I can select a price list.
So it definitely looks like a permission issue, but I'm not sure where to look. The user has the role of Salesperson (though that role may have been modified). The user can enter data for other fields on the new quote form, but the Price List field is grayed out.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The User requires the applicable "Append" and "Append To" privileges:
In this case, they will need:
- "Append" privilege on the "Quote" entity
- "Append To" privilege on the "Price List" entity

I know this post is old, but I am hoping someone will have an answer and respond.
I have the same problem. I am using CRM Online 2011 and don't seem to have an option for "Append To" privilege on the price entity. My users have "Append" privilege for Quotes in Sales. The Security Roles haven't been changed and are set with the out of the box settings. I can't seem to pinpoint the permission that is causing this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've just had the same issue in Dynamics CRM 2011. After a bit of trial and error, it turns out that the privilege which needs to be switched on is Append To Product (in the Sales tab).
