    Hi,

I have created a custom entity called Employee. I would like to generate another custom enity whose customizations should be same as the Employee entity. Is there a way to copy the existing entity to create a new entity as same as Employee. Can something be dont with import/export customiztion. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Priya

    Dear,

    There is no supported way.

You can export entity and change the xml with schema name only, then import it. you can try this.

    Imran

    Hi Imran,

Thanks for your reply. I have tried changing the schema name and objecttypecode of the exported XML file. It ends up with error while importing. I will try it up again.

    Thanks,

    Priya

    Hi,

The only possible hard way is to create the entity and its individual attributes. There is no supported way, and I am not aware of any unsupported way as well. Exporting the customizations and renaming the schema there wouldn't be of much help too because that is not changing the Database table name. Either it'll show an error while importing or the CRM application won't work. I am not too sure though, but that seems apparent.

    Hi,

Thanks Imran and GadeS. There was error while exporting the customization and renaming the schema and hence i have created the entity and attributes manually.

    Thanks,
