I am trying to modify the Status Reason dropdown list when closing an Opportunity, in the Opportunity Close form.
I referred the the instructions in the Resource Center, however I cannot modify the entity 'statuscode' all fields are greyed out.
I am the System Administrator.
Please advise - thanks!
Monday, March 19, 2012 8:22 PMThe options in the status reason field on the opportunity close is are not comming from the status field on the opportunity but from the statuscode field on the opportunity entity. This can be edited and changes made here should show in the opportunity close dialog.

You are correct, statuscode must not be the correct field I am seeking to modify.
When one changes an Opportunity to 'Close as lost' there is a prompt to select a reason from a dropdown list. "Cancelled" "Close Lead" "Lost to Competitor" etc. This is the list we are seeking to modify.

You can change the reason codes in the opportunity entity:
Go to CRM - Settings - Customizations - Customize the System - Choose Entities - Opportunity
Choose Fields and edit the statuscode. In the "Type area" change the "Status" to lost. Now you should be able to edit the reason codes, when an opportunity is lost.

We are having the same problem with being able to modify the "statuscode" field, because it's greyed out. I've reviewed the above suggestion, but besides this field being in the "Opportunity Close" entity instead of the "Opportunity" entity, the fix itself doesn't seem to work (the fields are all greyed out, so I can't modify the values of the drop down box).
Anyone else with any ideas?
