AnswerMigrating from SBS 2003 CRM 3.0 to SBS 2008 CRM 4.0

We are currently migrating from SBS 2003 with CRM 3.0 to SBS 2008, we intend do upgrade to CRM 4.0 as well.
If this has already been answered I'm sorry, but I couldn't seem to find the answer.

    My question:
Is it possible to upgrade from CRM 3.0 on the 2003 server to CRM 4.0 on the 2008 server directly? Or does one have to upgrade to v4 first and then migrate CRM 4.0 from 2003 server to CRM 4.0 on 2008 server.

    All replies are greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

You need to upgrade to CRM 4.0 first in Windows 2003 then upgrade to Windows 2008? Then you have a copy of the CRM 4.0 database. Just in case you need to install CRM again, you can install it against the existing database.

Also how many users do you have in your CRM 3.0 environment?  CRM 4.0 Workgroup edition only give you 5 users. You might want to pay attention to that if you are using CRM 4.0 Workgroup Edition.

First you have to upgrade CRM to 4.0 with databases and later upgrade SBS. On the new server you have to install CRM 4.0 and import new organization.

Thanks for the quick and helpful replies.
I appreciate the heads up with regard to the number of users, I'll look into it before I start doing anything else.
