In reading from article: Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Email Router Error with a date of 12 Apr 2012, comment at the end of the post:
"If you have a large number of CRM users using the Email Router and only a few incoming/ outgoing profiles, we recommend you create multiple profiles in the Email Router settings to increase performance.
For example, if you have 50 users and 1 incoming & 1 outgoing profile, create more so you would have 10 profiles, and 5 users in each."
Best Regards Dynamics CRM Team"
I will have about 100 users using the email router for incoming and outgoing and in some instances for incoming: forward mailbox and outgoing: email router. Is this comment saying I need to create a number of the same incoming / outgoing profiles or create new incoming/outgoing profiles. Could some one please explain.
thanks

That sounds like an administrative nightmare. Do they provide any justification for that view?
A link to the article wouldn't go amiss :D

Hi,
You may need multiple profiles if you process loads of emails. However having multiple profiles on the same server, may not speed things to the level you may want. See if this article can give you an idea how to scale the email router:

If you don't process many emails a day, I wouldn't worry to much about having multiple profiles or servers etc.
