Unanswered Customer Portal Invitation Code not a clickable link

The email that is sent provides a link to our portal with the invitation code included so the user can click on the link without having to type the code.  However, if you click on the link, it will not populate anything to the right of the = sign.  The only solution is to make the user copy and paste it into their browser.

So why provide the link in the first place if it's not going to be clickable?

How can you force the hyperlink to include the entire url with the invitation code?

There is a problem with the html editor in CRM.  There is not a nice rich text hyperlink control.  That said, you can accomplish your goals by using the following process:  edit your workflow and put the correct url in there.  When you navigate off the field, the workflow editor will attempt to make the link a hyperlink but will miss some of the parameters in the querystring.  Simply hit CTRL-Z (undo) once - which will remove the inaccurate hyperlink.  Then save the workflow step with no hyperlink.  When your customers receive the link, their email client will properly hyperlink it for them.
