I have a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online client looking to integrate shopping cart functionality.  They take orders over the web and send invoices with their existing system.  What possibilities are there for integrating eCommerce with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online?

I would check the following two options for integrating with Microsoft CRM online:

    1. 3rd Party Integration Tool such as Scribe Software Insight:

    2. Custom build your integration via Microsoft CRM SDK:

    Hi,

My experience shows that custom integration using CRM SDK will be the best option for shopping cart functionality but you will have challenges because of Microsoft CRM online version.  It works great with on premises version.

uMar, can you elaborate on the challenges you've faced?  I'm not trying to imply you haven't faced any, but the team would be particularly interested in which ones are blocking key scenarios for our partners and customers.  Also, we might be able to suggest design patterns or workarounds if there's really a functionality gap.  Thanks!

I am in a similar boat.

I would like to be able to automatically import new client information into the CRM after they register on our website. Can this be done via email?

    Hi Alex,

It should be easy enought to import Contacts into CRM.

Are you talking about CRM Online?  There's built-in functionality; I think it's called Internet Marketing for CRM Online.  And that can be setup with little or no technical programming.

    Regards,

Hi thanks for those comments. I have setup the internet leads but am looking for more custom functionality.

    For example:

We have a website that takes online registrations (includes a credit card step) and once approved, it inserts the client into the database. It would be great if as well, we could automatically insert that new client contact info into the CRM. Can this be done automatically with an automatic email generated from our website that is then received by the CRM in a way that automatically inserts them as a new record?

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks.

    Yes, Hi Alex Joseph,

This is done all the time.  A web site form can be integrated with CRM through the CRM web service.  New Leads / Contacts can be created, or existing Accounts / Contacts can be updated, etc.

Please feel free to contact me offline if you would like consulting help to accomplish this: Boolean1@verizon.net

    Thanks,
