ConferenceXp does not work on the Internet.

Hi, I am new to ConferenceXP. I want to basically setup a video conferencing system initially using the ConferenceXP setup. The installer works fine on the LAN. But it does not run when the parties are on different network. When I start the UNICAST mode and enter the 'global IP', I can see my own camera feeds on my system but not the cam feeds of the pc on the other PC. The same thing happens on the other end. I have a few queries pertaining to this.

Queries:-
--> Do I have to make any initial configuraion on my system?
--> Any other settings ?

Batch file to delete or copy files

Hi all,

I have a directory with jpeg files. Then I have a list of numbers, for instance:

10023
10024
10027
10028
10031

The jpeg's are also named like this: 10023.jpg, 10024.jpg, ...

I want to write a batch file that

Option 1: deletes all jpeg files that are not in the list of numbers
Option 2: copies all jpeg files that are in the list to another directory

I don't mind to use the list of numbers hard coded in the batch file.
Problem is that I have no idea how to do this.

Can someone write me something quick?

I checked the product key which was all correct but it stills informs me that the product key is wrong. I brought the computer directly from Dell and I know that the computer has a genuine version of Windows XP. Please I need help to fix this problem.

Receiving Update

About once a month, my computer slows to a crawl as I see the little yellow shielf (lower right system tray). When I put my cursor over it, it says "Receiving Updates: xx%), where "xx" some some number between 1 and 100. It takes more than 24 hours to make this little shield reach 100% and go away. Then, the computer works fine again. I'm a Realtor and canot go a day without my PC. I'm told this is a One Care problem. Anyone know how to make it go away (or finish quicker).

Our forums are not exactly overloaded with activity, so I'd like to ask everybody: what do you think about establishing other communication channels, such as a discussion mailing list or a newsletter? In both cases you subscribe to a mailing list. But in case of a newsletter, we (Windows Academic Program) send all the subscribers messages with the news, while in the case of a discussion list every subscriber can post a message. In other words, the discussion list works like a forum, but it all happens in your mail box. Let's discuss this.

And another question: would you like us to post here information about Windows Academic workshops we conduct now and then around the world? Would you like to have pre-announcements ("such-and such workshop will take place then and there")? Would you like us to post and discuss "trip reports"?

I have a For Loop with in another for loop and I want to exit the inner one after 1 pass or at least not process any of the lines after the first one read. The code above is not working. The variable FOUND1 is not getting reset to "T". Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my code? Any HELP would be appreciated.

Windows Media Player

I don't know if this is the right place for the help I need, but here goes.

My windows media player loses it's sound, and then comes back on it's own, and then just stops playing again, and then comes back again.

I also haved iTunes on this same computer and I don't have the same problem, It's only in media player, in the music library or any email with sound.

If anyone can help me I woud appericate it.

Windows Explorer DLL

Hi,

What DLL does Windows explorer use to draw the list of hard drives and folders? I am not sure where this kind of question belongs but.. I am currently building a program for creating prenamed folders in specific locations. The server I am working with has over 5,000 different folders in it! So, I need the DLL that windows explorer uses, or any program for that matter that allows it to read every hard drive and folder it has access too.

I would like to download a copy of the Windows research kernel .I have developed a small dos clone and a protected mode os that implements a very tiny subset of the posix api . redundant path for disks problem

well,

disk1 and disk2 are mapped from other system through iscsi.But when i add driver letter for disk2 after formating,an error happened.the detail info is described as Disk2 will not be used because it is a redundant path for disk1.I have no idea about this problem. who know the reason? thanks.

There is probably a better spot for this question, but here goes. I work in a language learning environment which utilizes Tablet PCs with the XP OS. The problem is whenever the students switch to the Japanese keyboard the tablets freeze. This is the only language this behaviour is occuring. We have two diffent tablets - Fujitsu and Motion - the behaviour is showing up on both systems.

Any ideas?

I have windows live messenger 8.1, and i got windows vista, but i can't go on it, it says that due to compability problems the program has been closed. I've tried everything, installing it over an over and over, but i think the problem is the windows live call, because when i try to uninstall that it says i can't because is not compatible with windows, can someone tell me how to uninstall windows live call that is not compatible with vista from windows vista.

Or better yet, can someone tell me how to go back to windows xp without a disk, because my computer came with windows xp and i installed vista, can someone tell me how to go back to windows xp without using a disc, because i dont have a windows xp disc. Thank you.

I am new to WRK and ProjectOz and I'd like to know how I could set up the environment

those 10 steps are not working on my computer especially the nmake step. could anybody help me and explain to me what each step does and should I run them on cmd or powershell. I tried both but they are not working? I have another question, what is the relation between projectoz and WRK?

0. Copy the WRK into a directory, say %wrk%.
    1. set arch=x86 [or amd64]
    2. path %wrk%\tools\%arch%;%path%
    3. cd %wrk%\base\ntos
    4. nmake -nologo %arch%=
        will produce kernel files in BUILD\EXE\%arch%
        [wrkx86.* or wrkx64.*]
    5. copy the kernel to %SystemRoot%\system32\
    6. if x86, find the Multi-processor version of hal.dll [see below]
    7. add a line to C:\boot.ini of the target system
        to boot this kernel and the MP hal [see below]
    8. reboot and select the boot option for the new kernel
    9. you will boot up on a kernel you built/linked yourself!
        [always keep the original boot.ini line and kernel/hal available so you
         can still boot your system if something fails with your WRK kernel modifications]

File compression in Windows 2000

I have a question regarding the file compression in the Windows operating system. I can see two check boxes. one is "File is ready for archiving" and another is "Compress files to save disk space". I cannot find any more information regarding these two options. my questions are

1. does windows provide any compression by default?

2,. if so, instead of using winzip or other compression software, can i go with this compression?

3. how much efficient this compression will be?

Hi, Can anyone help me in following issue:
I have a Windows 2003 domain Controller/server and 20 LAN Domain computers/users. I want to just synchronize domain clients time with server time. Although Server itself is updating clients time after every 40-45 minutes but I want to reduce this time to 5 minutes (i.e. Every domain clients will automatically update their time with sever after every 5 Minutes)...I tried alot but couldn't succeeded.

Actually, the problem is that no any w32tm command run on any client, otherwise there is a command (w32tm/config/syncfromflags:domhier/update)
thorugh which all clients will automatically update clients but when I write any command of w32tm ...it open help file/option of w32tm command...
Otherthing is that the Addional Domain Controller (ADC) automatically synchronize its time from PDC (Primary Domain Controller) after every 5 minutes...so what I found is the only diff. b/w ADC and Domain Clients is that the Windows Time Service (In Control Panel/Services) is configured to Restart the Service Automatically on ADC while I tried to configure/select this option (i.e. Restart the service)on clients but clients computers is not giving me to do this.
