Don't know if I hit the correct forum, but here goes. I have run into a number of validation issues over the internet and think it may be a firewall issure but not sure.
Try to download Windows Defender and get to the point where you click on validation to continue. Validation hangs and never completes. Tried the alternate method with the same results. Follwed instructions to allow active x xontrols etc. in the browser settings, still no change. Is there a specific content type or port that needs to be enabled?
Please validated your Windows by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/genuine then locate the "Validate Windows" button located in the upper right hand corner. Double click the button and follow the instructions. Next please restart your computer. Are you still having problems? Next Download and run the utility at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , then click the Windows tab, Copy to Clipboard, then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum.
Step 2 is tell us about the COA. Tell us:
1. What edition of Windows XP is it for, Home, Pro, or Media Center? 2. Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering? 3. Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering? 4. DO NOT post the Product Key. 5. Please also provide a short description of the issue you are experiencing.

Lets try this first. The problem you may be having could be a Windows Update problem which isn't covered here in the WGA Forum. If that is the problem I have websites and a forum which may provide you with a resolution.
