Windows Activation Technologies Popup Window

    Question

  • Ibought a new larger hard drive for my Lenovo X200. Right before installing it I used the rescue and recovery program to make a backup of the hard drive and a recovery CD. I installed the new hard drive, booted from the CD, did a rescue and recovery from an external hard drive with the backup on it and repartitioned the new hard drive for more space. Now every few hours a window pops up saying This computer is not running genuine windows. When I go to windows activation it says that Activation was sucessful and my copy of windows in genuine.

When I go to the download required windows validation components and try to run them it gives me the error of Update Installation Failed. Error information 0xC800oo247.

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

  • They had me click start, right click computer, go to change product key, re-enter my original product key (from back of CD) and click continue and said it would work.

    .....and did it?
I would be VERY surprised if it did!

  • It made no difference. I am still running into this problem and spent 2 hours on tech support with microsoft (zero help) this morning. I am to the point of frustration where I will buy a mac in the next week. This software/validation error is software that is not usefull to me, a huge pain in the butt, and its only make the product worse from the consumer/customer point of view. Why would they make a worse product on purpose.
