WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION - Problem with activation

    Question

  • I had just did a full reformating of my Acer Laptop using a downloaded Windows Xp Home Edition Service Pack 3. I don't intend to use those keygen or crack to activate because I still have a few genuine CD Keys including the one found behind my laptop.

For the few genuine keys I had in hand, those are under service pack 1 or earlier on.

Currently, no matter how I try to activate using those keys, I can't do it at all.

Anyone encounter this and solve it before...?

    Thanks!

  • Good Moring,

We only support Windows Genuine Advantage "WGA" problems. Your problem falls outside the scope for the WGA Forum. Under NO circumstances should someone try to download/distribute ISO images for software from a P2P file sharing site or use a second-hand burned copies of software. Research has shown that about half of the software copies available on P2P download sites are infected with root kits, spyware, Trojans, and other potentially harmful malware. One file in particular was very alarming.  This file was an administrator account giving the attacker full control over both your system and data.  I would be very concerned about your system integrity because your Windows is non-genuine.

  • Hello p0227210,

Best to get the Acer Recovery CDs if available.  You can be GUARANTEED that they do not have rootkits, viruses, remote control hacks, password stealers, keyloggers, and other malware.

    The thing you downloaded.....who knows?
