Problem with WebBrowser Control in VB6

    Question

  • Hi,

I wanted to have a WebBrowser control for my VB6 app. The IEFrame control that is available in VB6 does not offer all the functionality that I require. So, I used the "Interop Forms Toolkit 2.0" to create a VB.Net user control that has WebBrowser control embedded in it. I am able to use the control for browsing but I am facing one problem with one event. I have a HTML page that is calling some JavaScript function on "onkeyup" event. I have noticed that "onblur" and other events are getting fired inside the control but "onkeyup" is not getting triggered when the control is used within VB6 application. If I use the same control in a .Net application, "onkeyup" is working fine.

Please let me know if you have any idea about the problem.

    Regards,
    Chaitanya

  • I found one article that is talking about this issue.

FIX: OnKeyUp Event Does Not Fire for WebBrowser Control
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=322173

Though this issue is working in a .Net application, it is NOT working in VB6.

  • Hi Mike,

Initially I had posted this problem in .Net forum as I thought it is a problem with a .Net control (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/Offtopic/thread/c0f71f35-a1d0-47ae-8f7e-05857a14ee4e).  The post was moved from there to off-topic.  They had provided the same URL to post VB6 questions.  I followed it and posted in Visual Basic Interop and Upgrade.  But again the post is moved from there.

    Thanks,

    Chaitanya

  • Hi Chaitanya:

Please check the topic of Visual Basic Interop and Upgrade:

Discuss how to do upgrades of VB6 code to VB.NET. Covers questions on interop features, Interop Forms Toolkit, Upgrade wizard, but NOT for questions about VB6.

Based on the suggestion of this thread:  http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vbgeneral/thread/6a0719fe-14af-47f7-9f51-a8ea2b9c8d6b
