Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Assertion Failed

    Question

  • I am trying to open a game that I downloaded, but instead of opening, I receive this error message:

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Assertion Failed

    Program....

    File:.\graphics\win\d3d9.cpp

    Line: 79

    Expression:

    !FAILED (m_direct3D->Check Device Type (AdapterToUse, Device Type. d3dpp. BackBufferFormat, d3dpp.BackBufferFormat, d3dpp.Windowed))

    For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure

    See Visual C++ documentation on asserts.

    Press Retry to debug the application - JIT must be enable to debug.

    This is all Greek to me, and needless to say I am clueless as to how to solve this problem.  Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Contact the game developers. It's an issue they need to resolve.
