StickyMake sure you activate

    If you purchased your machine from a participating System Builder (www.localpcbuilder.com/eligible), but when you try to redeem a Windows bonus Pack are told you are ineligible, it may be because you have not yet activated your copy of Windows. Before posting here, please try the following steps:

    1. Right click on your "My Computer" / "Computer" icon and select properties.
    2. Scroll down to the last header, which should be "Windows activation".
    3. If Windows has not yet been activated, do so now.
    4. Try redeeming the offer again.

    If you are having problems redeeming a Bonus Pack for Microsoft Office, it may not be activated. To activate Microsoft Office:

    1. Open one of the applications (such as Microsoft Word) and click on the Microsoft icon at the top left of the window.
    2. From the menu select <application> Options.
    3. Click Resources.
    4. Select Activate.
    5. Follow the directions in the Application Wizard.

    If you still fail eligibility, please post the results of your diagnostic report, and let us know what offer you were attempting to redeem.

    I continue to get noticfied that I have a 'non genuine' copy of MSWOrd.  My copy IS genuine, however.  When I completed the steps idenified above regarding activating both Vista and MS Word, the screens indicated that my copy WAS already activtated.

    What should I do next?
