Previous person employed purchased from a retail outlet Office Ultimate 2007 in genuine case and with product key. Product loaded approx Nov 2010 and validated correctly. Recently had issues with the PC and needed to replace the video card. When PC returned the Office version needed to be re-registered.
Failed online registration
Rang the telephone registration - failed
Spoke to Microsoft Customer Service - determined that CD1 is Non-Genuine and product key is described as MSDN but unable to help further and referred to retailer
Retailer speaks poor English but says can't supply a warranty version of 2007 (not available)
Asked them to ring Microsoft and resolve - refused to do so
I have proof of purchase (paid $199.00 Australian) don't know if that is good or bad price
In process of changing internal database from older MS Access and proprietary written product and must for some few month at least use this version
Where do I go from here?

You will have to purchase a new legal License forwhichever edition of Office you require - note that MS no longer sellsOffice 2007, so you will have to purchase Office 2010.The Key in use is an MSDN Key. Unless you are an MSDN subscriber, youare not entitled to use the Key – and whoever sold it to you was notentitled to do so. Your Windows Key is from a not-for-resale MSDNaccount. You need to claim an immediate refund from the vendor - doNOT accept the offer of a new key.(all they are trying to do is to getpast the 45-day claims window. or avoid you sending the evidence oftheir crimes to the authorities)Please read the following stickies......................................http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/a2444f34-0aff-4f29-a8ac-67e28b0c0285andhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/309bb621-92d5-43d6-98c1-2bb51b35607fThe pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few years, as theprice of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and asfactories open in less well-policed countries.see also this post....http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/46a58748-5a64-41ff-b7f4-f6d3b47beca9Also - have a look at this video....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzqNNiOM0cNoelCrashFixPC.co.uk
