- i have dell with win xp home edition on it. it has updated symantec antivirus, but still somehow got infected by hacktool.rootkit virus.
i am unable to remove it, can somone help?
also i would like to know that i have damaged my original dvds provided by dell containing operating system and drivers.
if i format my pc now do i need to buy windows xp again? my laptop is out of warranty period.

- The only effective way to make sure your computer's security has not been seriously compromised is to reformat the hard drive and reinstall your Windows operation system.
