Windows XP Professional validation

Wednesday, May 24, 2006 12:12 AMThe COA is attached to my computer and the System information says XP is registered. The OS was installed during the recovery process about a year ago, and now Microsoft says it's not a valid copy. I did everything required during the recovery. I can't install IE7 OR media player 11 of course. I have the windows XP validation code (25 characters) but I can find no way to enter it. Can anyone help? Thanks.

First, please verify if your COA sticker or product key (http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/coa.mspx) matches your Product Key being used on your system? You can view your product key with the Genuine Advantage diagnostics tool (at least the last 15 digits) located here: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 .
