Wednesday, January 26, 2011 3:32 AMI recently bought a 2010 Microsoft Home and Student keycard for my new laptop. I ran through all of the troubleshooting issues, and every time I still get a message that the prodcut key is invalid. I don't understand what to do. Any suggestions??

Quite often if you activate an Office 2010 installation as a Trial of one edition of Office first, then purchase a product or product key card for another edition of Office 2010 and try to activate, the activation system can't quite cope with it.
Best advice is to uninstall any and all Office installations on the computer using the appropriate MS FixIts in this article (scroll down in the article): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 then restart twice.
Next, download a fresh set of installation files to match your product key here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/buy/netbook-FX101850729.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA101828496
After installation, activate online normally.
Post back to let us know if it worked for you :-)
