I attempted to upgrade my Windows XP Professional pc with a Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade but was unsuccessful because of conflicts with my ATI Radeon ATP 3850 graphics card and the nForce chipset which is not supported easily.  I would not be able to use the full power of the graphics card I just purchased at the higher resolutions.

Can I use this same key on another Vista Home Premium pc in my household or will the key be deactivated?

    Hello Heier,

If the key is a Valid Windows 7 Home Premium English Upgrade key, then it would be accepted in Windows 7 Home Premium English software that was upgraded from a qualified version of Windows.

    Thank you,

Product Key are specific to the Version, Edition, Language and Install method (i.e. Upgrade vs Full install and/or Retail vs OEM) of Windows it's to be used in.

Example: a Key for Windows 7 Ultimate English Upgrade would not be accepted in Vista Home Spanish Full install (or any other Windows that differed in Version, Edition, Language or install method)

Your key will still be valid for Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade (i.e. it won't be deactivated) it just will not be accepted in any non-Windows 7 Home Premium copy of Windows.

    Thank you,

I understand that the key is only valid for Windows 7 Home Premium.

All I want to know is that will the key still still work doing a custom install from Windows Vista Home Premimum to Windows 7 Home Premium with both English version?

Eventhough I first attempted a customer install (reformat of hd) on another PC which was running Windows XP Professional.  It did let me do the custom install on the XP machine.
