There's no problem that I can see with Windows - please see what happens when you attempt validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate (note that if Firefox fails, you should try IE, as FF often barfs)If it passes, you'll be offered MSE and IE9 - you don't have to take them. However, there may be a problem with your Office installation - it's a version only available as a Volume License, and consequently, if you acquired this through normal retail channels, rather than through your employer or college, it is very likely to be counterfeit.

I have just noticed the same message on the bottom right of my desktop. Win7 Home Premium 64bit. When I tried to update MSSE it refused saying my windows was not valid. I tried again, I had to download and run a windows activation update exe file and after that windows appears to be valid again.

Please start a NEW thread of your own, and include a current MGADiag report so that we can check that all is now OK.
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
- **in your own thread**, pleasePlease also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
