My son has a Dell laptop purchased directly from DELL It had a problem not long after we got it but I spoke to DELL did some things (I can't remember what) and it was ok. A couple of months ago I did a restore as it was running slowly and now have the message again. This is the diagnostic message
Friday, April 20, 2012 6:24 PMModeratorYour problem is that the OS is unable to see the SLIC table that should be present in the BIOS.You need to change teh Key to the one on your COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment), and then activate that.Use the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page to make the change - you may need to activate by phone.
