Answered Processor Upgrade - Effect on license?

My computer has an OEM Windows 7 Pro license.  I need to change the E7500 processor to one with virtualization (E8500) so I can take advantage of Windows 7 XP mode.  Will there be a problem with validating the key if I do that?  I believe the license goes with the mother board and not the processor, so I believe there will be no problem, but just want to make sure.
    Thanks, Druber

Your Windows 7 OEM genuine license status will not be affected at all by a CPU upgrade.  Feel free to upgrade it!

The only hardware that can affect your Lucensing Status is the Motherboard.  This is because (as far as Licensing is concerned) changing the Motherboard creates a 'New" PC and OEM Licensing only allows Windows be used on the first computer it was installed on. If a New computer is created, the OEM software is no longer licensed to run on it.
