I bought a T510 direct from Lenovo so I don't have an installation disc. Is there a fix for this?

You can insert the key from the COA sticker and activate over the phone, just type SLUI 4 in the search box, hit enter, select country and dial the number. Do not enter any menu options, wait and a real person will answer.
OR
Contact Lenevo, it appears this computer my have mistakenly shipped with no bios SLIC 2.1 marker. This is exceedingly strange as your bios is dated for 2010 and it doesn't even reflect any SLIC marker. Unless it was intended to ship with an alternative OS (linux) it should have a marker of some type. YOu can contact Lenovo suport and ask them for a solution, they may have an updated bios with the SLIC but make them have an authorized service technician do the flash so you don't harm your laptop.
It is also possible that the marker exists but the OS fails to see it, in any case, contact lenovo or activate with the COA

Hello jerseyjohn,
Just as an FYI...regarding reinstallation discs.
Microsoft requires that its OEMs supply you the end user with a means to reinstall the OS. If that means is based on the installed hard disk drive (such as a recovery partition accessed at startup with special keystrokes), then the manufacturer is also required to provide a utility that generates a set of DVD/CD based recovery discs, too, just in case the hard disk fails. It is up to you to run the utility and make the recovery discs.
Does your Lenovo have a Windows Certificate of Authenticity affixed to the bottom? If so, what is the version and edition of Windows listed on the CoA? Don't post the product key.

There should be a COA, the computer definitly qualifies and ships with Windows 7.
I found something interesting on the Lenovo site.
I am not going to tell you to flash your bios because bad things can happen, I will provide you with what I found so you can make an informed decision. There was definitly a problem related to activation in past revisions according to this change log. If you flash, this may or may not replace the SLIC, and it may or may not allow your computer to reactivate. Be careful if you choose to flash, another option is to pay a shop to do it.

jerseyjohn here - unable to get back into the site so I made a new identity.
Thanks to everyone for trying to help. I found a way to solve the problem which i'll describe here.
I called lenovo's support in Atlanta who told me the CoA for Windows is on a panel inside the battery compartment.
Lenovo advised me to write down the Product Key letters and numbers (5 sets of 5) and call Microsoft at
866-530-6599 who will give you a new set of Product Keys. After changing the keys and a reboot the "not genuine' warning disappears. Apparently the issue is caused by updates .
The lenovo guy suggested changing automatic update acceptance so you can check first. I understand a service pack will be out in summer.

Glad you got it fixed, putting it on the inside of the cover was acctually a good idea on Lenovo's part.
