Windows 7 License
-
Thursday, December 31, 2009 4:38 AMHi,
I am interested in buying Windows 7 Professional full retail version but was wondering about the license agreement. What I was planing to do was to install Windows 7 on one computer and maybe like after a year later reformat that computer and install Windows 7 on a newer computer. Therefore, the license would only be used for one computer.
I was just wondering if this is possible.- Moved by Carey FrischMVP Thursday, December 31, 2009 6:10 PM Moved to relevant category (From:Windows XP Genuine Advantage Validation Issues (Windows XP))

Hello DAVID_NEEDS_HELP,
Once of the major advantages to buying a full retail license for most Microsoft products (Windows 7 included) is that you are permitted by the Software Licensing Terms (SLT) to do exactly what you want to do: at some point move the license from one computer to another.
