N/AWanted to reinstall windows XP Pro Media Edition on my Gateway computer - did not have the disc and the D: drive that had the "restore to original factory" has been lost. Used a bad copy of Windows XP Pro Media Edition to get the system on my computer, thinking that I could enter my legitimate product ID to become genuine. I have both my sticker ID and the one located by a product ID viewer on my original install. Problem is that the site won't let me enter either one of the #s that are legitimate. Any help would be appreciated.

Your Windows XP Pro Media Edition is showing as 'License Type: Retail' which is impossable since Media Edition was never sold as a standalone retail product. At this point I can say that the "bad" copy you installed, is not just bad, but is completly hacked and won't accept your Genuine Product Key.
I recommend contacting Gateway and ording replacment Restore Media.
Hope that helps,
