I thought I had already activated my WinXP Pro win I installed it a couple years ago, but what the heck, right? But now I still get the message every time. I continued to the activation process again just to be sure, and it shows it has already been activated. According to another post from 2007, I ran MGADiag.exe program and it also shows "Genuine".

Here are the results:

Diagnostic Report (1.9.0011.0):
-----------------------------------------
WGA Data-->
Validation Status: Genuine
Validation Code: 0

Cached Validation Code: N/A
Windows Product Key: {omitted}
Windows Product Key Hash: {omitted}
Windows Product ID: 76487-OEM-2256884-36907
Windows Product ID Type: 3
Windows License Type: OEM System Builder
Windows OS version: 5.1.2600.2.00010100.3.0.pro
ID: {D3F7C756-A113-417F-A34B-A7C7F763E4B2}(3)
Is Admin: Yes
TestCab: 0x0
WGA Version: Registered, 1.9.40.0
Signed By: Microsoft
Product Name: N/A
Architecture: N/A
Build lab: N/A
TTS Error: N/A
Validation Diagnostic: 025D1FF3-230-1
Resolution Status: N/A

When I go to the Genuine Microsoft Windows site and run the diagnostics, I get the following results:

Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Results

Passed

Active scripting allowed

Passed

Display images enabled

Passed

Computer time and date correct

Passed

Cookies enabled

Passed

ActiveX enabled

Passed

Windows validation ActiveX loaded

Passed

Office validation ActiveX loaded

Passed

Validation Self-help ActiveX loaded

Passed

Validation Self-help: Data.dat Corruption check

Passed

Validation Self-help: Cryptography check

Passed

Validation Self-help: Product Activation check

So, how do I get rid of this message??Fri, 20 Nov 2009 05:32:52 Z2009-11-25T06:23:25Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/66e1a8a4-52a8-4c51-8ad9-d35e898ab7d9http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/66e1a8a4-52a8-4c51-8ad9-d35e898ab7d9mekap04http://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=mekap04You May Be A Victim of Software counterfeitingI was in the process of removing a virus I had on my computer and when I rebooted, it says that my copy of windows isn't genuine. I've had this computer for a couple of years now and never had this happen. I purchased it at a rent a center place and then had the hardrive replaced at a computer shop where they had to reintall everything again. Now that I got this virus and try to clean my computer, i get this message. What should I do. The CD I originally had and the CD I borrowed are both XP Home SP 2. The only thing I can think of is that the CD I borrowed came with the computer, well, kind of. I got taken to a shop to have XP installed and they provided him with the actual XP home disk. So, any suggestions?
Tue, 24 Nov 2009 22:09:19 Z2009-11-25T05:10:56Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/54277f81-2e6d-4ae9-9f1f-0915551319a2http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/54277f81-2e6d-4ae9-9f1f-0915551319a2fs - abhttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=fs%20-%20abridiculous to be forced to activate from using msconfigOn a pc with problem, I want to diagnose with msconfig. the momemt I was done with msconfig and reboot, I was ask to activate immediately!

add insulat to injury, the Maps license and the corresponding key on longer allow me to activate bia intenet or auto phone answer due to too many probem pc (9) being replaced or re-installed recently.
Final insult: operatoer were not available since Sat.

I don't mind WGA as long as it does not give false repsonse. I sync the clock with the internet, it gives me a msg saying that it failed, but then leaves a msg that it was successfully synced at that time.
I did re-arrange the RAM and take the battery, and internal battery out, then put it all back together again, because whatever was wrong with my laptop before wouldn't even let me re-install until I did this. It would just reset on startup even if i attempted to boot in safe mode, and give me an error like DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, among other errors, although this is beside the point.
Everything else is fine and passes the WGA online tests. This is extremely frustrating, I will find a new battery when i can, maybe in a few days, although I don't believe it is the problem. If you can assure me that it IS the problem then I will make sure I do this sooner. The time and year are correct, I have checked this countless times.
Did the internal battery die exactly when I reinstalled?
I'm sure I can run out the main battery and it will still retain the correct time, in fact, I will do this now.
I just want to upgrade to service pack 3 etc.
Any help would be appreciated, this is a bad time to be happening right now.
Also I have reinstalled twice today and the same thing happens. I just don't understand why it says the clock is wrong when I can clearly see it is right, I have selected the right location, etc.
This is the error given by the website: [0x80080210]

WGA tool:

Diagnostic Report (1.9.0011.0):
-----------------------------------------
WGA Data-->
Validation Status: Clock sync error
Validation Code: 10

Cached Validation Code: N/A
Windows Product Key: *****-*****-2MDY9-F6J9M-K42BQ
Windows Product Key Hash: jY+nlE0RT38EEXpeUqSdQPABSQc=
Windows Product ID: 76487-OEM-2211906-00101
Windows Product ID Type: 2
Windows License Type: OEM SLP
Windows OS version: 5.1.2600.2.00010100.2.0.pro
ID: {38DDA00B-63F5-4FAE-9231-A50679061394}(3)
Is Admin: Yes
TestCab: 0x0
WGA Version: Registered, 1.9.9.1
Signed By: Microsoft
Product Name: N/A
Architecture: N/A
Build lab: N/A
TTS Error: N/A
Validation Diagnostic: 025D1FF3-230-1_E2AD56EA-765-d003_E2AD56EA-766-0_E2AD56EA-134-80004005
Resolution Status: N/A

WgaER Data-->
ThreatID(s): N/A
Version: N/A

WGA Notifications Data-->
Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
File Exists: No
Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
WgaTray.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
WgaLogon.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002

OGA Notifications Data-->
Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
OGAExec.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
OGAAddin.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002

OGA Data-->
Office Status: 109 N/A
OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0
Signed By: Microsoft
Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1

Browser Data-->
Proxy settings: N/A
User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Win32)
Default Browser: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.exe
Download signed ActiveX controls: Prompt
Download unsigned ActiveX controls: Disabled
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins: Allowed
Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe: Disabled
Allow scripting of Internet Explorer Webbrowser control: Disabled
Active scripting: Allowed
Script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting: Allowed

File Scan Data-->

Other data-->
Office Details: <GenuineResults><MachineData><UGUID>{38DDA00B-63F5-4FAE-9231-A50679061394}</UGUID><Version>1.9.0011.0</Version><OS>5.1.2600.2.00010100.2.0.pro</OS><Architecture>x32</Architecture><PKey>*****-*****-*****-*****-K42BQ</PKey><PID>76487-OEM-2211906-00101</PID><PIDType>2</PIDType><SID>S-1-5-21-3680831247-404463201-2877931733</SID><SYSTEM><Manufacturer>Hewlett-Packard</Manufacturer><Model>HP Pavilion dv5000 (EX040PA#ABG) </Model></SYSTEM><BIOS><Manufacturer>Hewlett-Packard</Manufacturer><Version>F.09</Version><SMBIOSVersion major="2" minor="4"/><Date>20060313000000.000000+000</Date><SLPBIOS>Compaq,Hewlett,Hewlett,Compaq</SLPBIOS></BIOS><HWID>7E873007018400FE</HWID><UserLCID>0C09</UserLCID><SystemLCID>0409</SystemLCID><TimeZone>E. I am using the same CD and CD key I received through the program however it gets rejected during installation. Is there anything that may cause this to happen. There have been no hardware changes to my computer in a few years. I have been running a XP/Ubuntu dual boot for a little over a year with 2 successful reinstalls of XP in that time. I have tried removing the Linux OS and reinstalling XP with the same results.

The CD and CD key are both for Windows XP Professional.Tue, 24 Nov 2009 06:29:11 Z2009-11-24T06:29:12Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/f3d7d9e0-a979-4d53-b644-b007cdf9f88dhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/f3d7d9e0-a979-4d53-b644-b007cdf9f88dGDJameshttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=GDJamesActivation thread continuedHi, you have locked my thread, so I have started a new one.

I have now purchased Windows XP Home Edition OEM Software.

However, when I put the disc in the drive, the Activate Windows option still comes up, rather than the computer trying to read the disc in the drive.

Gerald
Sat, 31 Oct 2009 09:29:00 Z2009-11-24T05:04:29Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/356aed1a-9075-421b-8c75-bd2e87bf658dhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/356aed1a-9075-421b-8c75-bd2e87bf658ddaviddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddhttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=daviddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddmicrosoft genuine test help
ok im on a windows xp satellite pro laptop and on the website it past the genuine test but when i got to do a genuine upgrade it stay its not a genuine copy and send me back to the site that says it is

Diagnostic Report (1.9.0011.0):
-----------------------------------------
WGA Data-->
Validation Status: No Check PID
Validation Code: 4

Cached Validation Code: N/A
Windows Product Key: *****-*****-FWVQX-BTCXV-478DD
Windows Product Key Hash: HyJm6m1R5pRKUmvBBKV4qHcXkt4=
Windows Product ID: N/A, hr=0x80070057
Windows Product ID Type:
Windows License Type:
Windows OS version: 5.1.2600.2.00010100.3.0.pro
ID: {32B48D5A-7C33-4EF6-88F4-A0597FC2CFB7}(3)
Is Admin: Yes
TestCab: 0x0
WGA Version: Registered, 1.9.40.0
Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80096010
Product Name: N/A
Architecture: N/A
Build lab: N/A
TTS Error: N/A
Validation Diagnostic: 025D1FF3-449-80004005_025D1FF3-229-80004005_025D1FF3-230-1_025D1FF3-528-8004b039_025D1FF3-237-8004b039_025D1FF3-238-2_77F760FE-119-80070057_025D1FF3-257-80070057_025D1FF3-258-3_025D1FF3-307-80070057_025D1FF3-70-80070057_78155E4D-117-80070057
Resolution Status: N/A

WgaER Data-->
ThreatID(s): N/A
Version: N/A

WGA Notifications Data-->
Cached Result: 0
File Exists: Yes
Version: 1.9.40.0
WgaTray.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x800b0100
WgaLogon.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x800b0100

OGA Notifications Data-->
Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
OGAExec.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
OGAAddin.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002

OGA Data-->
Office Status: 109 N/A
OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0
Signed By: Microsoft
Office Diagnostics: B4D0AA8B-543-80070002_025D1FF3-449-80004005_025D1FF3-229-80004005_025D1FF3-230-1_025D1FF3-528-8004b039_025D1FF3-237-8004b039_025D1FF3-238-2_77F760FE-119-80070057_025D1FF3-257-80070057_025D1FF3-258-3_025D1FF3-307-80070057_025D1FF3-70-80070057_B4D0AA8B-693-80070057

Browser Data-->
Proxy settings: N/A
User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; and takes you back to the log in screen. It's the same vicious circle, over and over.

To add to the confusion, when restarting the machine, and trying to log into Safe Mode, all the text is in Spanish. I can read Spanish, but only very s l o w l y ! Anybody know how to change the language of MS's scrolling 'opening credits'??

She's indicated that they could log in and use the computer for about a week after they got it back from the shop, then started getting the Activation messages.

Mon, 23 Nov 2009 05:22:35 Z2009-11-23T22:45:31Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/25d14a0d-d33a-46ef-bfac-0698555aa65ehttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/25d14a0d-d33a-46ef-bfac-0698555aa65emikeybowmanhttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=mikeybowmanUnable to Download from MicrosoftWell, it's as it seems. All came with printed booklets, COA and hologrammed disks. When I installed the first one, it stated it was not genuine. So I prepared a list of all 20 keys and sent it off to the Microsoft Validation team and asked for confirmation of the validity of all the keys. I did this with the idea of getting my money back from suppliers. They thanked me for the submission but said they would not confirm or deny the validity of any of the listed keys.

If you want to improve this sytem (that is what this forum is for, right), provide some way to check keys for validity.Sat, 21 Nov 2009 10:42:43 Z2009-11-23T21:59:21Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/77bdafe8-2671-40a7-a86f-071b91541fc4http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/77bdafe8-2671-40a7-a86f-071b91541fc43eyesopenhttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=3eyesopenReplaced hard drive, lost installation diskMy hard drive on my laptop stopped working and i had to replace it. I have a free antivirus program which I ran. It did not find a virus. The CPU runs at 100 percent. I can access the task manager but do not know which programs could be stopped. It seems like programs are being started that are not needed. I could clean the hard drive and reinstall but I would lose some of my programs.
Fri, 20 Nov 2009 01:07:37 Z2009-11-20T16:00:10Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/a8c0d61d-de90-41a0-aa69-67127f021465http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/a8c0d61d-de90-41a0-aa69-67127f021465rogg23http://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=rogg23Is Windows XP OEM Product Key Service Pack Dependent?I have a number of XP machines, newly installed with OEM product keys never before used, boxes freshly opened and stickers stuck on the machines.
The installed Windows XP version is SP2, I can activate the machines fine, then when I log off and back on, I get stuck in an activation loop, that says I need to activate then, it says windows is already activated click ok which logs me off.
If I run MGAdiag it says it's genuine.
If I install SP3 this problem goes away, the machine logs on straight away with no loop and if I do msoobe /a it says it's already activated.
The media that came with the OEM keys is SP3, but I installed SP2 as I needed to run a particular application that currently is only validated for SP2.
Could it be that the key only works with SP3 installations?
I didn't think that service pack version played a part in the key, but would like to know if this is the case. At least then I can try and arrange for the application in question to be validated on SP3!

Thanks.
Mon, 16 Nov 2009 17:30:23 Z2009-11-19T15:24:06Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/d14e56d6-fd99-49df-845f-9884e4969e71http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/d14e56d6-fd99-49df-845f-9884e4969e71Arun204http://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Arun204A problem on your computer is preventing updates from being downloaded or installed Hi
When I was trying to update windows updates were downloaded but failed to install.
And the message I recieved is

Problem: A problem on your computer is preventing updates from being downloaded or installed

give me the solution for it

(Sys Os is Windows XP SP3)

Thanks
ArunThu, 24 Jul 2008 06:16:45 Z2009-11-18T04:49:22Zhttp://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/99bf46be-02dc-4be6-ab5d-e66d33256c43http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindowsxp/thread/99bf46be-02dc-4be6-ab5d-e66d33256c43theDUnithttp://social.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=theDUnitPhone number to activate doesn't workI am running Windows Xp Home edition, and although I can connect to the internet; I can't for some reason activate windows.
