Unanswered Money 2000 problem

I've been using MS Money 2000 (UK version) since 2001 and find it extremely useful.

However, just recently I'm having a problem with setting up new accounts.  The basic problem seems to be if I tell Money that the account is held at a financial institution.

In that scenario I'm allowed to go all the way to the end of the setup only to be met with an error message telling me Money could not write to the file - something wrote to it first.  I looked up that particular error message and have tried the various suggestions but the problem persists.

However, if I tell money that is is NOT held at a financial institution it allows me to complete the setup.  Is there a maximum number of accounts or am I missing something blindingly obvious?

    Thanks in anticipation

Yes there were limits in Money before M2004(?). Have a ferret around in http://money.mvps.org/ which should have the relevant numbers.
