User's mailbox is not Indexing. I found the service, Windows Search, stopped. I logged in with local admin rights and attempted to start the service but immediately received an error. See error below:

"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

It appears something is corrupt. Any help would be appreciated.

Having the same issue. Have you come up with any fix? Just started happening recently, must be from recent windows update. I'm not even able to find any references about this issue on the Internet.

The service is stuck on "starting" and the CPU runs higher than normal. Killing searchindexer returns CPU to normal.

    Thanks
