Hello... what sort of connect (port), cable, and software is required on laptop and TV, so one can connect a laptop to TV in order to play a CD/DVD from laptop on to TV?

    Thanks..

It really depends on what connectors your laptop and TV have.  Some TVs have the same connector as the laptop has, but some don't.  If the same one isn't on both, then you'll need to convert from one to another.  You probably won't need additional software unless it's for the hardware as the TV should show as a secondary monitor.

    Jaz,

It really depends on what each of the devices have.  For example, a TV might have a VGA connector and you could connect the laptop directly to the TV with only a VGA cable (no adapters.)  You'll need to look at what the TV has and what the laptop has and see if anything already matches.  If nothing does, then you'll just need to find an adapter from one to another.  (For example, let's say the laptop has a VGA out, but the TV only has coax, then you'll need a VGA to coax converter.)

BTW, you can find a whole bunch of converters online, like http://search.cablestogo.com/?N=0&Ntt=sbns+vga+to+coax+converter (just an example - there are many companies with many different kinds of converters that should meet your needs.)
