Friday, July 17, 2009 9:18 PMI apologize for the down time on our server. The issue is now fixed.
There are two minor updates in this release:
1) the ability to specify a maximum size for a zip archive, and if necessary have tile-sets to span multiple archives.
2) fixed a bug in the downsampling filter that caused a slight color offset between levels
I'm sorry but this release does not include bigtiff support. I think that you are the first to ask for this. If this is an important feature, we can look into it.

Thanks for fixing the issue.
I do think BigTIFF would be an important feature, especially in the digital pathology arena. When we digitize slide samples the file sizes can alot of times exceed 4 gig limit of TIFF. I noticed you were using a version of libtiff from the output of hdmake, here's a link to an implementation of BigTIFF with libtiff:

Thursday, February 10, 2011 10:46 PMBigTIFF is an important feature - even some panoramic pictures get into this size range. I was disappointed to see that even 1.11 is not linked against a bigtiff compatible version of libtiff and hope that you revisit this issue!

Monday, August 29, 2011 7:22 PMEssential! BigTiff is big in Bio- and Geo-imaging - the scans that we are getting off of slide microscope digitizers are running 50% BigTiff, due to their having more than 4 gigapixels in an image. I am pretty much stuck right now since I can't fins a tool to split them up into pieces which would be manageable by hdmake. ANYONE have any ideas?
