    Will HD View be available for running on localhost? It would be nice to view local content when not connected to the Internet.

    You should be able to do this today.  You'll need to edit your html page.

    1) download the script from http://research.microsoft.com/ivm/hdview/hdview2.js 
    2) save this in the same directory as your html page
    3) edit your html page and change the reference to the js on the web and instead refer to the one on your local disk.
