Hmmm.  Stopping to think about it for a moment, I'm not sure that Venue Service was ever tested on Vista.  I think we focused on WinXP and Win2K3.  There may be a systemic problem here.  In which case, there is no ETA for a fix at this time.  Thanks for reporting the problem!

If anyone has been successful installing VS on Vista, feel free to let us know, as a counter-example.

    Hello,

To install CXP on Vista, you will first need to disable UAC.  To do this, I think you go to Control Panel, and then it is in User Settings somewhere.  I don't have Vista in front of me at the moment, or I would give you the exact path.

Once you have CXP installed and run for the first time, you can turn UAC back on and CXP will work just fine.

    Good luck,
    Adam

Hi Adam! Thanks for your reply but I've already tried disabling UAC. By disabling UAC, I am able to install CXP Client but NOT the CXP Venue Service Manager.

I haven't played with the Venue Service on Vista yet, so unfortunately I don't know how much help I can be.  The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is do you have IIS installed?  I know the Venue Service install would probably fail if you don't have that.

If you do have IIS, I'm sure Jason has some ideas.

    Good luck,
    Adam

Hi Adam! I already have IIS installed and running. When I run the Conference XP Venue Service installer in Windows Vista, the installer can't even start and generate this error message:

"The installer was interrupted before Conference XP Venue Service 4.0 could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again. Click "Close" to exit."
