computer hit by bug
- A virus or bug of some sort has disabled or deleted all my media software, I have no sound, no video player will work, even my display settings have gone away and am running on a default minimum. The wallpaper has turned to a banner saying "Warning fatal error All media systems or your computer have crashed or corrupted." and has a link to a suspicious looking page where it wants me to update my codec by paying $80.
I ran one care a few times now and it seems to catch something new everytime. I need to know is there anyway I can clean the system without having to do a full reinstall.

If you are using Windows Live OneCare and you have been infected, but OneCare did not detect or cannot remove the malware, please contact support to report this and for help with removal.
