    hi - hoping someone can please help with the following issue.

    i'm running project 2010 connecting to project server. I have just discovered I cannot re order / drag and drop tasks to different locations.

    in project 2007 i achieve this by

    > select a task by clicking on the id  (entire task is highlighted) > hover the mouse pointer over the task until a cross arrow symbol appears > left click and drag to a new location > release left click > task has been moved to the new location

    in project 2010 i cannot get the cross arrow symbol appear! does anyone have a suggestion to resolve

    I've tried this in multiple views, including the built in gantt which uses the table named entry

    Hi Paul,

    Point to the row heading (ID Column) until a four-headed arrow appears, and then drag the task to where you want it in the Gantt Chart view.

    Check if this option is Activated : File->Options->Advanced ->Edit Tab -> Check- Allow Cell Drag and Drop.

    Please try the following:
    1. Click File > Options.
    2. In the Project Options dialog, select the Advanced tab.
    3. In the Edit section, select the Allow Cell Drag and Drop checkbox.
    4. Click the OK button.
    Please let us know if this resolves your problem with drag and drop.

    All,

    Your suggestions have resolved my issue. I had to check Allow Cell Drag and Drop on the advanced tab options.
