When trying to baseline in Project Pro 2007... I get this error message and it prevents be from baselining: "There is a problem with the calendar name. The calendar name does not exist.  Click a calendar in the list and then press enter".

Any ideas on what is wrong, and how I can fix it???

Are you working in Project Server mode?

Do you have SP2 installed for Project?

Under Project, Project Information, note the name of teh Proejct Calendar. It's Standard by default.

Under Tools, Change Working Time make sure that calendar exists. If it doesn't, either choose another calendar or create it.

If neither of these things help, you may have a file corruption. Try saving to xml then re-open in a new project from xml and see if that works.

I am using MS Professional and I am connected to the server when this happens.  But note, it happens on new blank files where I have not yet saved (either locally or on the server), and it happens on populated files that have been saved and published on server.

I have been using the same MS Project file and calendar for almost a year and the message suddenly appeared today. I'm not sure what caused it as I didn't change any calendars. It may have been a glitch on the server in that the MS Project file couldn't access the calendar when it was trying to load? I'm using MS Project 2010 Professional

We only get the problem when we put sub projects into a master project.

The projects are baselined and save fine when done independently.

According to other advice we have to baseline each project first then insert the sub projects into the master.

This is a bit of a challenge as the projects get rebaselined regularly.  So very keen to see a solution.

I've seen same for first time today.  Working on individual subproject files with shared resource file.  when I see the error, taking the clue from here, I just hit the "save baseline" button. then after that baseline save, the file saves (apparently ok).

Frankly, though, haven't a clue whats going on.  All the calendars in use are actually there.  I have found some "bogus" calendars which take on the name of individual tasks.  Can't find how to delete them.

    No Server.  Latest SP's applied.

    Works in progress.

I had this issue happen in Project Pro 2013 and saving the baseline worked there also.
