Is there a way to create a view that has NO Gantt Chart Component?

I would like to create a view for our executives that does not display any of the Gantt Chart information. So far I have only been able to create views that have the Gantt Chart, even though it is not specified. Is there a way to suppress it? I know that I can "minimize" its footprint by using a large offset, but it is still there providing an annoying "red herring". All we want are the fields we specify—Project Name, status, etc.
Thanks for any ideas!

Chas --Since you mentioned using a large offset, I assume you are talking about creating custom views for either the Project Center page or a Project Details page in PWA. For either type of view, the answer is no, you cannot create a custom tasks view that does not include a Gantt Chart. The only solution is the one you have used to hide most of it. Thanks for your response, Dale. I wish there was a way—maybe someone at Microsoft will update the product so it is more flexible in the future.
Maybe we can use some other way to create an intuitive flexible dashboard?

Chas --Why don??t you create one or more Business Intelligence Center reports for your executives? The views are built in Microsoft Excel, but are shown in Excel Services. You have the option to create an Excel chart along with the data shown in the PivotTable part of the report. Just a thought. Hope this helps.Dale A. Howard [MVP]

Dale—Fantastic Idea! But where can I find out how to use this feature set? I tried, but it seems to want me to upload a document—is there a way to find out how to use the system to build a dashboard "on the fly"?

Chas --Creating BI Center views is not as simple as you might think. You cannot build a dashboard until you have built at least one BI Center view. A good place to learn about creating BI Center views and dashboards is to start with Microsoft??s online documentation, available at:You might do a Google search on Business Intelligence Center to see what is out there. In addition, you might want to try creating some new BI Center views using the sample views and the templates in the BI Center. For a definitive treatment of this subject, you might want to purchase the Project Server 2010 books for administrators, published by our company and available for purchase at:Hope this helps.Dale A. Now you've done it. I have to have this book—looking through the TOC it seems that every issue I have been having is discussed. I've requested purchase authority, and hope to get this, Dale.
Thanks!
