Hi,
Anyone knows if and how I can have the task notes field read-write in PWA (2010)?
Thanks

Hi Sander,
You can only make the task of reading the notes for it and include the necessary details in the notes field of the task.
Click: Server Settings - Appearance Group - Manage Views - choose one of the visions of projects locate in
available fields and click add notes. After this visit the project details and view the notes column of the tasks. The editions in the notes of tasks remain to be made in Project Professional 2010.
I hope I have helped.

Sander --If you are taking about the task notes that appear on the Timesheet page or the Tasks page in PWA, then the answer is no. When the PM enters a note on a task in the Microsoft Project plan and then publishes the project, team members assigned to that task can read the note, but cannot change it. The system does allow the team members to add their own notes in addition to what the PM wrote, however. Hope this helps.Dale A. Howard [MVP]

This is very weird i must say.
I don't understand what is the logic behind removing the feature of adding notes by the team member in Tasks view.
PWA had this in Project Server 2003 (i'm still working with it with some of the company's costumers)
It is a good thing to allow a team member to add notes about tasks he is assigned to.
That way a resource can update (with dates and so) while he is working on the task.
So if he has task with work estimation of 4 days he can add notes of important things that he developed, what he had done or things to be aware of.
Why removing this option? (it should have been an option with a permission to allow or not allow using it)
This is my opinion anyway...

Hello Dale,
I actually mean if it can be edited by a PM in the (f.i.) task summary view in PWA, when i add the field 'notes' to this view...
Can this field be made read-write for the PM in this view?
Regards

Hi Sander,
As Dale mentioned you cant edit the notes, however the team member can add notes which will append on the exisitng notes once the PM has accepted the change. Hope this helps
