Hi,
I'm new to Project Server 2010. I have the following question when trying out its beta version:
I have mutiple projects with two level hierarchy as in the following:Product 1:
Project 1-1
Project 1-2
Project 1-3
..............Product 2:
Project 2-1
Project 2-2
Project 2-3
..............Product 3:
Project 3-1
Project 3-2
Project 3-3
..............
(More projects...)
What is the best way to create a group of projects that maintains that structure when create those projects in Project 2010 with PWA? That is, end-user can recognize this relationship easily when browsing/updating those projects.
Thanks,
Wei

This is similar to how you can do it in Project Server 2007.
1. Go to your PWA. Select "Server Settings" (on the left nav) then click on "Enterprise Custom Field Definition".
2. Create a Lookup table called "Project Heirarchy" (or any other name you choose). Populate it with the Heirarchy you want (Product1, Product2 etc)
3. Create a Project Custom Field that attaches to the lookup table. More information about this here: http://officebeta.microsoft.com/en-us/projectserver-help/create-or-modify-a-custom-field-HA010098007.aspx
4. Add that Custom Field to a Project Detail Page (Server Settings->Project Detail Pages).
Once you do this, it will be available as a field that proposal creators can set. Information on how to create a project here: http://officebeta.microsoft.com/en-us/projectserver-help/create-or-edit-a-project-or-proposal-HA100990584.aspx.
This can be made visible in Project Center, by adding that Custom Field to a 'Project Center' view (like Summary). Plus it will be visible when a user views/edits the project.
