Unanswered Put Server 2007 Data back

    Good morning,

We deleted resources and projects out of Project Server 2007 on yesterday not realizing another team in the company uses our server. I did a restore but I am not seeing the projects. Two questions:

    1. Any idea how long a restore takes to put the projects and resources back into Server 2007?

    2. Since the system does a backup daily, how can I restore the data from the one of the previous backups?

    Thanks,

    Panicking Cicely

    Thanks in advance, Cicely

    Hi there,

Easiest way is to use Administrative backup from PWA site. Are you aware about this option?

Yes, I've already done >Server Settings, >Administrative Restore, >Selected the projects I wanted and clicked >Restore

That was at 9amEST this morning and none of the projects have appeared back on the list within Project Center. It is now 2:24pmEST.

    Thanks in advance, Cicely

    Hi there,

Have you opened the Projects in Project Professional then saved and published them?

    Thanks

Ok, that's the point :( I've deleted them so I can't even get the projects to open them in Pro and republish them. Somehow this morning I was able to go somewhere in Server and see one of the project, open it in Pro and then republish it. BUT I can't figure out what I did. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance, Cicely

    Hi,

After using the Administrative Restore function to restore the deleted projects they should be available in Project Professional (providing you have permission to the projects). Click the retrieve the list of all projects from Project Server, are the projects there? Make sure you are using the Working store.

    Thanks

    Paul

After administrative restore project will be restored in Draft database.

You have to publish the project plan from Project Professional. Once projects are published , you will be able to see the project in Project Center.
