    Hello All,

Is there any reason why a user will have greyedout ribbon at the top in tasks inspite of having all the permissions. Other user who is having the same permissions is able to see the normal ribbon and is able to add new rows(tasks) to it. Thank you very much in advance.

Are you sure that the project is not checked out by the other user WHILE you are trying to edit it?

Only one user can edit the project at a time, and the other users will see the buttons grayed out in PWA, as you have observed.

As Prasanna already pointed out, the most common reason for the greyed out ribbon icons is the fact that the project is already checked out to another user. Have a look at the small status ribbon located behind the ribbon. It will tell you whether the project is already checked out and if so by whom and since when.

However, I have seen other cases of greyed out buttons where the project was actually checked in. This was caused by a script error on the page. Does the user see a small "warning" icon (yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark) in the bottom left corner of the IE status bar?
