I encounter quite a few users who state "we work in days, not hours" and have had several people recently request to show information in the Resource Assignments view in PWA in units of Days and not Hours - it is not an option available from the ribbon like it is in some of the PWA "My Work" Task views and I don't think it is something you can define from within the Time and Task Management section within Server Settings. I am assuming the actual ASPX page needs to be edited, I have looked at editing the page in PWA where the "web parts" editing pane becomes live but had no joy.
Has anyone else had this request and actually managed to resolve it?

Your best bet here is going to be to create some Excel Services or SSRS reporting that generates a similar view but with days instead of hours (and shows the time slices as something larger than days I would guess as well)
the queries are pretty straight forward and the report can handle the groupings, etc.
