Here are some problems I found :

    * The signature block does not accept a webpage. (http://madhurahuja.blogspot.com) - Reports invalid characters.

    * About me block does not accept a "/" character. My text was : "I am working on MOSS 2007 as developer/consultant".

I do not think the character like "/" should be treated as invalid.

Same issue on the signature block - it won't accept:

    John Welch | www.mariner-usa.com | www.agilebi.com

It also won't take http://www.mariner-usa.com as my personal web page.

However, it's OK with the imported values - I just can't make any updates to my profile with changing those.

Same issue here in about me box. Won't accept parentheses or semicolons.

This is all well and good in all, but this is the excuse we hear all of the time in the current version of the forums.

"... in the next release of the forums."

Yet we never seem to get to the next release of the forums, at least one that works.

So far I like what I see here, but if it means pushing out the release of these forums a month to fix a few issues, then do that, considering there aren't any forums officially live yet on this version.

Hi Phil, We understand the sentiment. Let me just say that we, the forums team, are dedicated to moving this from what we hope the majority feel is a good start on to a great product. We discussed this issue specifically yesterday in our team meeting, along with some of the other reported issues and suggestions. We value the criticism and the suggestions greatly. (Yea, the complements are nice too :))

Our plan is to do more frequent, smaller updates to improve the system with the first/next update being focused on performance, high pri bugs and a few things that didn't make this release. Only time will tell, but from a dev on the inside, we are listening.
